  Super nice and upscale restaurant on the bay/ palazzo... enjoyed  our dining experience with a great view.....we ordered the catch of the day ... white fish,  prawns, pizza and lasagna with 2 Moscow mules, Prosecco and chocolate panacotta . Everything was delicious and as good as can be.... best surprise was the awfully clean bathrooms.
  They do add service charge and can be pricey, it's totally worth it!!

  Well, before I read the reviews, I was concerned, but our waiter was fine.  We ate here after a Grand Canal tour, followed by a private gondola ride.  I had the beef filet with Gorgonzola cheese and wine sauce.  My wife had a whole grilled sea bream.  She really enjoyed her fresh fish.  My beef was OK, but reminded me why I don't usually order beef in Europe.  I prefer the American, Argentinian or Japanese style beef.
  
  It was along the main strip, so I wasn't surprised that it was somewhat of a tourist trap.  Not great, but not bad.  The service was very good.  Priced high for what we got.

  I am sitting in this restaurant as I write this review.
  The waiter is of the worst kind with no courtesy.
  We have some vegetarians in our group and wanted to find out what do some of the dishes contain to avoid meat, but he had no courtesy to explain properly.
  He also started talking in local language with other waiter as he left our table and he was cribbing about our questions.
  
  Just continuing to stay here as we are hungry.
  Do not come here for a good experience.
  
  Attaching photo from menu claiming the staff is courteous to our intolerances and allergies but they are not.

  We picked this restaurant for the view, but the view of the lagoon turned out to be not great as I elaborate below. However, the quality of the service and the food turned out to be better than we had thought.
  
  The lagoon view
  This restaurant is on the main drag along the lagoon near Saint Mark's Square. San Giorgio Maggiore is right across the lagoon from the restaurant. An excellent location but the view is not great. First and foremost, there is a vaperotto stop right in front of it, which mostly blocks the view of the lagoon and San Giorgio Maggiore. Also, as other reviewers pointed out, there are so many tourists passing in front of the restaurant all the time. So, you just cannot expect a great view.
  
  Food
  I would not say the food was excellent, but it was much better than I had thought. I was pretty happy with the grilled king prawns I ordered.
  
  Service
  The waiters were nice and helpful. No complaints.
  
  Conclusions
  Let's put my review in perspective. I thought the quality of food, the service, and the price were not bad for the kind of establishment (i.e. a big restaurant near Piazza San Marco). Is this a tourist trap? Yes. Do I feel ripped off? No. Overall experience was positive. We left the restaurant happy. Would we come back here? Probably not as there are many other restaurants in Venice.

  Excellent location by the water, food is great service is good. Waiter not very friendly but this is very topical from what I see in Europe.
